School Projects
This is some of the work I have done with junior and infant children.
Our Town Quilt. This is a project I did with my Year 5 pupils at St. Mary's School. It won first prize at Malvern Quilt Festival in 2009. Each child worked on a separate building before it was put together. The flag border was made by Sue Harper, who has worked at the school for many years, and I sewed the whole lot together, onto a backing.
I made this quilt with Year 3 children at Hawkedon School, Lower Earley, as part of their work on the Egyptians.
We entered the Festival of Quilts children's challenge in 2010 with our version of the theme Cityscape, and won first prize! (Year 5, St. Mary's school)
This was a Henley Youth Festival Project. The tent is made of cotton panels, using batik and painted with dyes, all done by Year 6 pupils at St, Mary's.
This is another Henley Youth Festival project, for Sacred Heart School in Henley, tying in with pupil's work on the Greeks. It is Icarus, made with chicken wire covered in foil, with laminated wing feathers. We also made the minator, but I can't find a photo of it at the moment!
Wooden Horse of troy.
This was made by year 5 pupils with my help at Hawkedon School for their production of The Walls of Troy this October.
